New Confederate Monument in Virginia Nears Completion

Two years ago,  the Virginia Flaggers’ Rt 360 Charlotte Defenders Roadside Memorial Battle Flag was raised and dedicated in Charlotte County, Virginia.

Recently, work was completed on a new stone monument that has been added to the flag site by the men of the Charlotte County Grays, Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp #1964.

The memorial is dedicated to the glory of God, and in honor and memory of the men from Charlotte County who fought and died for the Confederacy.

The groups co-sponsor the flag site, which is visible on the roadside along 360 in Charlotte County.  The granite marker was purchased from Monuments Across Dixie, an organization in Alabama working to add Confederate monuments and memorials across the South.

The Virginia Flaggers have raised 34 roadside memorial battle flags across the Commonwealth.
